CapComments: How to Comment on a Dolibarr Item and Mention a Colleague
CapComments has been available since November 4, 2025, in version 1.0.1.
The Need
Comments on a file are exchanged over the phone or by email and do not appear on the relevant record. The "Note" field does exist, but it has no author, date, or thread.
The comment thread
The module attaches a thread to the item, where each message is attributed to its author. A comment can be private or visible to the team, and a reply is linked to the message it refers to, with the option to cancel before sending.
Legal Notices
When you type a colleague's name preceded by an @ symbol, you mention them. They receive an email telling them who mentioned them, in which thread, along with the message text and a direct link to the thread. The number of notifications sent is displayed when the comment is posted.
Everyone can view their notifications in Dolibarr and mark them as read: the email sends a notification, and the ERP system keeps track of the list.
Prerequisites
Dolibarr 11 or later, PHP 7.0 or later.
The module is released under the GPL v3.
