CapMail: Incoming and Outgoing Emails Integrated into Dolibarr

CapMail has been available since October 31, 2025, in version 1.0.4, its first public release.

The Need

Most of the communication with a customer takes place via email, and remains in the recipient's inbox. The ERP system, on the other hand, doesn't retain any of it.

The Next Generation

The module connects to an IMAP mailbox: server, port, username, password, and encryption mode. Messages are then displayed in Dolibarr along with their date, sender, recipient, attachments, and direction of flow—incoming or outgoing.

Each message has its own unique ID, as well as the ID of the message it replies to: conversations read like threads, not like a stack of isolated messages.

Treatment

In Dolibarr, a message can be marked as read or unread, replied to—with an address that can be automatically copied in on replies—and assigned one of four tags, the labels for which are defined in the settings by each organization.

An attachment can be moved to an external document management system, which removes it from the mailbox and stores it where the company's documents are kept.

Prerequisites

Dolibarr 11 or later, PHP 7.0 or later, and an email account accessible via IMAP.

The module is released under the GPL v3.
