eTicket: the receipt issued via QR code, with the screen facing the customer

eTicket has been available since April 25, 2023, in version 1.0.1.

The Paperless Ticket

The receipt generated by the cash register is stored on a relay server, where it is kept temporarily—for twenty-four hours. The customer scans a QR code and downloads it to their phone, without going through the store’s Dolibarr server, which therefore does not need to be publicly exposed for this purpose.

The relay server address is a setting: it can be the one provided by the default service, or another one.

The Customer Screen

Each point of sale receives a web address to display on a screen facing the customer. The module’s documentation is clear about the required hardware: an old, entry-level tablet connected to a local network is sufficient; it displays only this page. The customer can see what’s happening at the register, followed by the QR code on their receipt, along with instructions on what to do with it.

Multiple retail locations can operate side by side, each with its own display address.

Prerequisites

Dolibarr 11 or later, PHP 7.0 or later, and the Dolibarr POS module to generate receipts.

This version is being released as an initial test version.
